Carlo Bavagnoli has been a loyal guest since the opening of Rigolo, contributing to creating the warm and familiar atmosphere that characterizes our establishment.

For this reason, he wanted to share with other friends and regulars of his historic restaurant a small selection of photos he had taken between 1958 and 1962.

Carlo Bavagnoli was a true protagonist of international photography: he was indeed the only Italian photographer (or it would be more accurate to say "non-American") on the staff of LIFE, the great magazine that helped write the most exciting history of photojournalism.

In this room, there are some of his most famous photographs, mainly published in LIFE: from "People of Trastevere" to some extraordinary reportages made in the United States or in poverty-stricken Italy, engaged in the difficult path of rebirth. For Carlo Bavagnoli, photography was testimony, memory, an opportunity for meeting and friendship.

This is the reason for those photos here, in this room of Rigolo, where Carlo usually sat and appreciated the magnificent risottos cooked by Mrs. Vilma.
